Being originally established back in 1956 as the Almetyevsk branch of the leading Soviet Oil School, I.M. Gubkin Moscow Oil Institute, Almetyevsk State Oil Institute is an independent university funded by both regional (Republic of Tatarstan) and  federal (Russian Ministry of Science and Higher Education)  governments  since 1992.

 

Over past six decades Almetyevsk State Oil Institute has educated several generations of engineers, managers and researchers, who have become leaders of Russian oil and gas industry. Over past few years, a new campus accommodating 700 students and a new university Research Center with world-class laboratories have been built under the sponsorship of TATNEFT, one of the largest Russian oil companies with headquarters in Almetyevsk.  

 

Today, Almetyevsk State Oil Institute is a modern, dynamically developing university committed to excellence in research and education with accredited B.Sc., M.Sc. and Ph.D. programs offering students a wide range of courses in the oil and gas engineering, management of oil and gas production, IT and automation technologies and other fields.
